Behavioral challenges in persons with Alzheimer's Disease often lead to poor clinical outcomes and increased suffering for patients and families. In this presentation, Dr. Ladson Hinton, of UC Davis provides an overview of the range of behavioral problems in persons with Alzheimers's Disease and related disorders, the assessment of behavioral problems, non-pharmacological approaches to behavior management, pros and cons of medication use in treating behavioral problems. The emphasis is on current treatment guidelines and practical approaches for the busy primary care clinician. (#15983)
