This documentary follows the efforts of the Grant family of San Diego and Sudberry Properties as they seek community support on a plan for their 230-acre sand and gravel mine in Mission Valley. Supporters describe Quarry Falls as a model of environmentally responsible, mixed-use urban development. Critics fear that the plan will fall short of its promise, delivering more of what Mission Valley needs least -- shopping malls, condos and traffic. However, if approved, the Grants promise to donate an additional 17 acres of Mission Valley land to the non-profit San Diego River Park Foundation for a wildlife reserve and Discovery Center along the San Diego River.
