Known as the "Conquering Lion of African Music," Thomas Mapfumo is Zimbabwe's premiere musician. A musical legend, Mapfumo is credited with introducing the electric mbira (finger piano) to world music. Mapfumo is also a political activist and intellectual, whose work, based on Shona traditions, crosses cultural, social and historical bounderies. Mapfumo now resides in Eugene, Oregon. (#7147)
