Barrie Bergman grew The Record Bar, from a single music store in Durham, North Carolina to a national chain of 180 stores in 30 states. Shortly after selling The Record Bar, he and a partner purchased bankrupt Bare Escentuals and grew it to an enterprise that was recapitalized in 2004 for over $200 million. He accomplished both successes by taking the ethical high road, facing tough decisions with, "So we'll get rich a few days later." His experience in growing ethical companies is chronicled in his book, "Nice Guys Finish First," a behind-the-scenes look at a commonsense road map to success in business and life. (#28471)
