This presentation by Dr. Emily Chen, UCSF Pediatrics, and Kimberly Barr, genetic counselor, will challenge your perspective of Down syndrome. It includes a glimpse back at historical aspects of Down syndrome and covers the medical and non-medical changes that have taken place in recent years to improve the lives of children and adults born with this condition. As part of the program, a panel of young adults with Down syndrome and their family members will share personal perspectives.
