Richard Rodriguez - Revelle Forum

6/3/2003; 58 minutes

Richard Rodriguez is the author of Brown: The Last Discovery of America. A Catholic, gay, Mexican-American, Rodriguez has examined his own experience as it intersects with public issues of class and ethnicity. In Brown, he offers compelling, lyrical, and sometimes humorous meditations on the "browning of America," exploring the meaning of the "Hispanic" presence in the United States and suggesting a future in which being "brown" (a mixture of black, white, brown, yellow and red) might become the definition of the authentically American.
