SENTRI at 20: A Celebration of 20 Years of San Diego Innovation

11/2/2015; 56 minutes

SENTRI, the 20-year-old program that allows quick entry back into the US for low-risk travelers, has made crossing the border so much simpler for thousands of pre-approved residents. This increased access has helped boost California's economy and is critical for its future, argues Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom, but as former US Rep. Lynn Schenk and others explain, getting SENTRI through Congress was no easy feat. Hear how she and other key leaders from the San Diego region achieved what many said could not be done in this panel event sponsored by the Institute of the Americas. Recorded on 09/22/2015.
