Serge Martinchuk began his piano studies in the Ukraine at the age of seven, where he also studied solfege, music theory and ear-training. By the age of sixteen, he graduated from the music school with honors and came to the US. He was the winner of the Pasadena Fine Arts Piano Competition and captured a second prize in the Los Angeles Liszt Competition.
