Pictures and Snapshots: Nielsen, Fung, Mussorgsky - La Jolla Symphony & Chorus

7/7/2017; 84 minutes

In "Pictures and Snapshots," La Jolla Symphony offers an eclectic program that mixes old with new and newer. Flutist Carols Aguilar shines in Carl Nielsen's virtuosic yet playful "Concerto for Flute and Orchestra;" Vivian Fung's evocative "Biennale Snapshots" receives its U.S. premiere accompanied by Tina Tallow's original video; and the concert concludes with that perennial favorite by Modest Mussorgsky, "Pictures at an Exhibition," in the popular version orchestrated by Maurice Ravel. Recorded on 5/7/2017. (#31845)
